  • Assigned serial number R5868 and delivered to No. 83 Squadron at RAF Scampton in June 1942
  • Assigned registration code PO-S, nicknamed "S for Sugar" and first flew on 5th July 1942 at Scampton in Lincolnshire
  • Flew on her final operational flight on 23rd April 1945, having completed 137 operational sorties
  • Retired from service after the end of hostilities in 1945 and moved to RAF Wroughton
  • Transferred to the Air Historical Branch in March 1956 and moved to RAF Scampton in 1959
  • Donated to the RAF Museum at Hendon in August 1970
  • Externally restored between 1970 and 1972 at the museum, with restoration of the interior completed by June 1973
  • The oldest surviving Avro Lancaster aircraft
