  • The Hanriot HD.1 was designed by Emile Dupont
  • One of approximately 1,200 examples built, some 900 examples for the Italian Corpo Aeronautico Militare
  • Entered service with the Belgian Air Force in September 1918
  • The type remaining in military service until 1928
  • Withdrawn from military service in 1933 and sold a year later and transferred into private ownership
  • Whilst registered as a civilian aircraft damaged in landing in June 1939
  • Airframe shipped to the United States in March 1963, although returned to Europe for the 1973 Paris Airshow
  • Donated by American owner to the RAF Museum in November 1978
  • Restored by the RAF Museum at Cardington between January and December 1979
  • Transferred to RAF Museum London in December 1979 for display
