Supermarine Spitfire P7350 - carrying the marks "XT-D" - is believed to be the oldest airworthy Spitfire in the world and the only Spitfire still flying that saw service during the Battle of Britain in 1940. The Spitfire was designed by Reginald J Mitchell and has become the most famous British fighter in history. P7350 was built at Castle Bromwich in the West Midlands and entered service in August 1940.

After the end of the Second World War the aircraft was saved from the scrap-yard and restored to flyable condition for the 1969-epic "Battle of Britain", starring Laurence Olivier, Michael Caine and Kenneth More. After filming was completed she was presented to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
